LawPro provides all of the tools you need to make your practice run as efficiently as possible. The

cash room will make light work of entering day to day transactions with LawPro's easy to use posting

routine that cuts down on data entry time and helps eliminate errors.

 

One entry of the amount updates both sides of the transaction, standard narratives pick up details

from the matter record and the forecast balance shows straight away what the effect of the posting

will be on the current balance.

 

The firm's nominal ledger is the main source of management reports and LawPro allows you to build

your chart of accounts to suit your circumstances. LawPro is a period based accounting system

meaning that you can continue to finalise month or year end accounts while continuing with daily

postings.

 

Reconcilliation of bank accounts including designated deposit accounts is a time consuming and

tedious process but not with LawPro - auto matching of transactions, sorting and searching and

importing of electronic statements cuts the time and effort to get this job done.

 

Handling recurring transactions such as rent and rates, VAT returns, cheque printing and keeping on

top of credit control are all functions provided by LawPro to make life easier for the accounts

department and firm wide management.

 

Billing

 

Many law firms continue to rely on traditional manual approaches to capturing billing information and creating the bill to the client. Hence quaint, coloured debit and credit slips are hand written and shuffled around the office to be deciphered and keyed into the accounts system by the cash room staff. Cash room staff then print out the resulting detail for someone else to type into a bill and do the arithmetic before printing the bill and giving it back to the accounts department to post it to the accounts system.

 

LawPro will cope with the latter method of operation but is designed to take all that pain out of billing as long as you are prepared to make a few simple adjustments to the way that you work. 

 

The render bill screen offers a suggested name and address for the bill which ,you can change if necessary and shows the value of billable time recorded plus any outlays billable to the client. These can be over ridden but when you are happy with the bill you just press the print button which will display the bill on screen for any final modifications. This can include adjusting the bill description.

LawPro can also keep track of billable activities so that block court fees or fixed price conyeancing work can have values set up and these will then be brought forward for inclusion on the bill.

 

lnterim bills can be issued.

 

LawPro also provides an auto billing function that allows you to generate bills automatically based on criteria that you define, such as when work in progress exceeds a particular value.
